The Bowl Company : Rajma Chawal

The Bowl Company is one of Bangalore’s most loved food delivery restaurants, available exclusively on Swiggy. If you haven’t tried any of their dishes, let me tell you my friend, you are missing out. I could go on for hours about their Drunken Chicken with Rice or Noodles, Nawabi Paneer Lababdar with Choice of Rice or even their Peri Peri Chicken with Egg Corn Rice, but I will save them for another post.

When my mom asked me to be vegetarian for two days in the light of Dussehra, I’ll admit I wasn’t all that into it. But all my irritation turned to dust the when I took my first bite of the Rajma Chawal from The Bowl Company. Despite being an ardent non-vegetarian, Rajma Chawal is one of my favourite vegetarian dishes of all time. A Punjabi friend of mine, introduced it to me when I was in college, and I haven’t been able to get enough of it ever since. This perfect bowlful of rice, spices and red kidney beans is ideal for lunch-time at the office and costs only Rs.140/-. It’s literally all I had for lunch and dinner for two days in a row!

In case any of you are wondering why I didn’t mention breakfast, it’s because I tend to skip breakfast, which I know is not a good habit, but I am slowly working on fixing that. It’s quite easy to skip the most important meal of the day, when you are thinking about work, catching a bus/ auto or making sure you don’t go to office looking like the tangled hair, drool faced half-human you saw in the mirror while you were brushing your teeth. If anyone else feels this way let me know in the comments below!

Anyone who manages to make it to work on time after breakfast, a workout sesh, and looking like you belong on a work-wear catalog of Myntra.com y’all are the real heroes.
