Deepica Mutyala was born on July 4th, 1989. She is an Indian American beauty guru and,  entrepreneur, raised in Houston, Texas, USA. She has worked for brands as a beauty specialist, reviewing products and looks until she launched her own YouTube channel.

When she graduated from college she wanted to become a Marketer. But when she wasn’t given any jobs in the field she decided to go another way. She worked with a company making makeup and beauty videos for them, which served as a learning experience for what she was to do next. 

Deepica worked up the courage to start her own YouTube channel and posted reviews, tutorials, and more that catered to the underrepresented brown girl community.

Her big moment came when she posted a video of her using red lipstick as a colour correcter for her dark circles and other dark areas of the face. This video has currently over 10 million views. Deepica exploded on the makeup scene with this one video which earned her an invitation to some of the most popular television shows such as CNN and Good Morning America.

Even though flaunting your culture has become a common thing now due to Tik Tok, Deepica was ahead of her times. Live Tinted and Inclusivity

In January 2018, Deepica Mutyala launched ‘Live Tinted’ a digital platform designed to serve as a community that promotes inclusivity and equal representation of all skin tones and colours. Live Tinted then transformed from a community to a movement that explored diverse beauty. She wished to use this platform to enable women of “every shade in-between” and beyond to give honest reviews about beauty and makeup products. 

An audience-driven platform from the start, the #TintFam went into a complete frenzy when Deepica released its first product the Huestick, which is an “eye, lip, and cheek multi stick that also balances out dark circles, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation”. The product is also vegan and cruelty-free, as well as free of sulfates, parabens and is 100% FDA approved.

“It feels like Live Tinted has been something I’ve been subconsciously working towards my whole life! As a little girl, I remember wondering why there was no one that looked like me in ad campaigns, in the media, on TV, etc. I felt disconnected and unseen. It’s made me realize that the world is craving a more inclusive, kind, and genuine space in the beauty industry.
