The following post is written by a really good friend of mine. She wanted to remain anonymous.
Zayn Malik. Every Directioner’s cue to sit in a corner and cry.
And while Zayn has not been on the headlines for quite a long time, he did make it last week with the news of a baby #Zigi on its way!
Fans started speculating the possibility of the pregnancy after Gigi Hadid’s birthday post on April 23rd. And eagle-eyed fans zoomed in on details in the picture venturing a guess that it might have been a baby shower for the model.
It was Gigi’s mom, Yolanda Hadid, that first confirmed the news to Dutch outlet RTL Boulevard a week later; saying that they feel very blessed and are very excited for the first-time parents.
Gigi finally confirmed the happy news on Jimmy Fallon’s at-home edition of “The Tonight Show.
“Obviously we wished we could have announced it on our own terms but we are very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support,” she told him.
Twitter exploded with the news of a new One Direction baby!
The reactions are priceless and many wished that they were in fact in the baby’s shoes and not Zayn or Gigi’s.
People are also already jealous of the genes that the baby will inherit from both sides of the family since both Zayn and Gigi’s families are known to be quite the lookers! And I can’t help but 100% agree with them!
1D fans, on the other hand, are excited that Zayn will be the 3rd member (former member) of the band to become a father. They hope that he will be welcomed into fatherhood with open arms by Louis and Liam.
The above is an accurate description of how I feel.
What it’s like to be a Directioner?
Becoming a Directioner was easy. When Simon put them together that day on the X factor, they blended so well together it’s hard to believe they came to the show as individual performers and not already a band. Watching them on X-Factor, their video diaries, and every other video since then,
it has definitely been quite the journey for us since they first formed in 2010. Being part of each aspect of their journey, watching them perform on stage during their tours while enjoying themselves and pranking each other; it was the best years as we danced all night to the best songs ever. (I’m not crying! You are!)
Zayn leaving was something we never saw coming and it was devastating when it happened. But when the band went on a hiatus the next year we were definitely broken.
Although I can’t deny that they have all excelled marvelously in each of their individual careers and shown the world how wonderfully talented they are; and as Directioners, we are proud of it all.
They have won nearly 200 awards including the Brit Awards, Teen Choice Awards, American Music Awards and so many more. They have been on 4 tours and they were every fan’s dream come true. Watching the 5 boys on stage singing their hearts out while being such good friends made every minute of being a Directioner worth it.
So what was it actually like to hear the news that Zayn and Gigi are having a baby?
So, when this news arrived, I had mixed feelings about it, to be honest, but maybe it was just because of all the Zayn drama that’s been around all these years. With Perrie and then leaving the band and then the twitter feud with Louis, for someone that imagined the boys always being together and growing up together, it was a lot.
Don’t get me wrong though, I don’t hold it against him. I know Zayn Malik had his reasons and knew what he needed to do to live a good life and be happy he did exactly that and I’m glad he is in a better place in life now. And with the news of the addition of a beautiful baby girl into his life, he will surely be over the moon.
I wish Zayn and Gigi the best of everything and will eagerly wait with all the Directioners and the rest of the world for little baby #ZiGi!
